Looks like there’s not much going on in the garden – but there is, especially if you’ve planted something for winter interest.

    ONE

Daffodils coming up covered with a wire cloche against squirrels.

One bed on the new allotment cleared and covered.  Soil underneath lovely and fertile so we are very lucky.

    SIX

Just ordered 50 alliums and 50 tulips from Jparkers offering great deals on bulbs.  I must be mad! I usually buy my bulbs in May to be delivered in September to plant in November.  Now I’m buying them in January but I’m sure they’ll come up in May.  Fingers crossed.

Thankyou to the Propagator who hosts this theme of Six on Saturday.  Over on his blog you see the offerings from other bloggers.  A good 2019 to us all, every one.

It’s always good to see signs of life at this time of year. Up here in SW Scotland, the days are short and weary, and little seems to be moving yet, despite the generally mild weather…

How lovely to be in the SW of Scotland, and with no midges I imagine at this time of year. I do envy you your scenery and fresh air. Hope to visit maybe this year. Best wishes.

I like your wire cloche against squirrels. I’m sure they could also be used for rabbits! (I don’t have any voracious squirrels here, just a quiet family that prefers hazelnuts). An idea of what you will grow in your new beds?

Really Fred no idea at all, absolutely none. I’ve never grown anything edible before. I feel I need to see what other people are doing before I will know what to do when but then I think I might just sow some seeds and see what happens. It’s all so exciting and has taken my mind off Brexit thank goodness.

Ooh more bulbs! Are they for immediate delivery? Or for the autumn? I shouldn’t buy any more, but I could be tempted. Actually, just remembered, I did buy more. 200 crocus…
