    Dear Readers,

I’m taking part in Sunday Morning Live on BBC One tomorrow, 18th at 10.30am to talk about gardening.

It’s the live section around 11.15am apparently, with people from different types of gardens. I’m told there will be compost involved and I’m taking lots of colourful things with me to represent my garden.

The invite came out of the blue and I’m rather excited!

Let’s hope I don’t end up on the cutting room floor.

    See you tomorrow……

Ah thanks Colin, hope you caught it. I can send a link if not. Great photo of the back garden I thought. I’d sent it to them. Jolly good fun and so glad I did it. Best wishes, Julie

I saw it and it inspired me to look for your blog. I have only last year (when I was 70 ) become interested in gardening ( too busy teaching and bringing up four daughters, my excuse ). Now I’m into it I can see what all the fuss is about- my aunt knew all the Latin names of plants! Now she’s 104, she can’t remember them but still…..
Thank you for your inspiration, I’m sure I’ll get good ideas for my small suburban garden in Manchester. The look I’m aiming for is Mediterranean so I have no lawn, just two types of gravel round a circle.
Well, back to your blog ! Happy gardening ! 😄
      Julie

Thankyou for your lovely reply. Your town garden sounds fine if you have no lawn – you have so much room for plants and with gravel there should be less work and easy access. May I ask how you found my blog because I so regret not giving the name of the blog while I had the chance. How did you find it with only my first name?
My Mum is 103 and still gardening so we have a lot to look forward to. Very best wishes, Julie

Hi Julie. I caught your interview yesterday quite by accident. Your comments really resonated with me as they reflect my own gardening philosophy. We open our small garden in West Sussex for the NGS and we get so much pleasure from sharing it with others. I look forward to reading your blog which, incidentally, I found by Googling ‘Garden Blogger Julie’. If you’re ever in West Sussex please visit us. We’re in the Yellow Book, Jacaranda in Ifold. Now I’m off to do some deadheading!!! Happy gardening, Barbara

Oh Barbara, I am so thrilled to see your comment and so happy that my comments got thru loud and clear. It is all about sharing isn’t it. I am doubly thrilled to see that you found me because I was kicking myself for not getting the name of my blog into the piece. Such a missed opportunity but lo and behold you found me with a bit of clever thinking. Hopefully others will too.
We are visiting Gravetye Manor this weekend but not with a car but if ever near Ifold I will definitely contact you. Hope you are enjoying these last summer days and I think we are sliding into cooler times. Very best wishes, Julie

Just watched it on catch up. Well done, you really got your point across. Must have been a bit daunting in front of the live tv cameras!

Hello David, thankyou so much for your comment and for watching my brief chance to get the joy of gardening out there. I see you are doing great work with your CGS group. My attempt to get a London one going never got off the ground as I ran out of steam.
Anyway, it was great fun but it was actually recorded around 10am as it started to rain but I enjoyed it and was thrilled to be asked (at 48 hrs notice!). Maybe Brad Pitt dropped out.
